I lead the Engineering department and I am focused on developing a strong engineering foundation, from infrastructure to product services, so the business can grow fast and sustainably. Our platform reaches customers that banks traditionally could not reach and a key focus is on evolving the engineering function to a place where new product ideas and user growth is exponential, whilst delivering high-quality solutions for all of JUMO’s product needs and ultimately to enable JUMO to become a globally respected tech brand where our engineers are happy, engaged and growing.
What I look for in my team
Smart, pragmatic, hardworking people, with real pride in what they do. The best engineers want to work with people they can respect and learn from, with clear goals and full transparency. You must be eager to learn more and improve, every single day. I’m excited to work alongside people who are passionate about leveraging technology to revolutionise access to finance for entrepreneurs.
What I am building and solving
We build technology that connects entrepreneurs and small business owners, in some of the world’s most challenging markets, with the kinds of savings and loan products that can enable wealth creation and transform lives. Getting this right is a massive technical challenge and an opportunity to solve one of the most pressing societal challenges: financial inclusion. We have a real opportunity to prove that technology can be used for good, in a scalable and sustainable way with the highest level of security.
Technology is the ultimate game changer, but in many ways, it’s also just a tool. What engineers choose to do with it is important.
Software engineering provides a never-ending stream of increasingly difficult problems to solve, where the reward lies in finding the most simple and elegant solutions. If the transformational power of technology is attractive to you and you’ve done your homework and research to make sure that we are the right fit for you, then we would love to talk to you. Be ready to learn a lot. Honesty goes a long way during the interview process. If you don’t know something, just say so.
